The DoTheDream Youth Development Initiative (DoTheDream YDI) showcased groundbreaking entrepreneurship engagement at the UNIDO Global Industry Summit held in Riyadh, under the theme “From Roadside to Renewable Energy Impact: Scaling Girls in Energy for Local Action, Global Progress through Inclusive Industrialization.” This initiative highlights how grassroots innovation can drive scalable solutions in renewable energy while empowering the next generation of female leaders in STEM.
During the summit, DoTheDream YDI demonstrated the transformative impact of its Girls in Energy project, which mobilizes girls and young women to engage in renewable energy education, career development, competitions, and community projects. The initiative’s focus on inclusive industrialization aligns with UNIDO’s Sustainable Development Goals by leveraging local talents and resources to establish sustainable energy infrastructures such as renewable energy mini-grids in underserved communities across the Global South.
Through entrepreneurial mentorship and capacity building, DoTheDream YDI has successfully created pathways for female entrepreneurs to develop energy solutions that address local and global challenges.
