High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, titled “Accelerating Global Partnership For Sustainable Development.” This event aims to make a significant impact on food systems, promoting the “Eat What You Plant, Plant What You Eat” initiative, which highlights the importance of local food production in achieving food security and Zero Hunger (SDG 2).

By emphasizing the role of local food production in establishing food banks, we strive to contribute to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 2. Our event aims to bring together stakeholders and experts to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to accelerate global partnerships for sustainable development, with a focus on food systems and sustainable agriculture.

SDG 2 aims to end hunger, achieve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture. However, industrial agriculture contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water pollution. In contrast, local food systems promote biodiversity, reduce carbon footprint, and support community development. The phrase “Eat what you plant, plant what you eat” encourages self-sufficiency, food security, and sustainable consumption.

We recommend supporting small-scale farmers and community-led initiatives, implementing agroecology practices and permaculture principles, promoting urban and peri-urban agriculture, and encouraging sustainable consumption patterns. Let us work together to transform our food systems, ensuring access to nutritious food for all while protecting the planet.

Embrace the “Eat what you plant, plant what you eat” philosophy and join us in achieving SDG 2 for a hunger-free world You’re invited to join me and esteemed global leaders on July 9th, 2024, at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria in New York, as I share insights on the impact of empowering 200,000 households with food banks.

This event, held during the 2024 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, aims to accelerate global partnerships for sustainable development and achieve the SDGs.

Together, we can create a more sustainable future for all.
